Dear Colleauges,

As you may know NAIH has joined a new EU project called STAR project (Support Training Activities on the data protection Reform). The two-year project will support the training activities of Data Protection Authorities (DPAs) and data protection officers (DPOs) required by the GDPR. The aim of the project is to develop a harmonised set of training materials that regulators can use to explain some of the most important provisions of the new legislation to stakeholders such as judges, magistrates and civil servants. Members of the project consortium are NAIH, VUB, the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and Trilateral Research, a London-based research institute.

STAR will develop the training materials in consultation with the DPAs and DPOs and test and validate them in pilot trainings so your co-operation is vital and very much appreciable for us with the hope that we will all benefit from the results. Please, be aware that we have already contacted your offices with some concrete questions and would be happy to receive your valuable contributions as soon as possible.
