Subject: STAR II - online survey for SMEs

Dear Members of the STAR II Advisory Board,

On behalf of the STAR II Consortium, I kindly would like to ask for your assistance. The first stage of the project consists of the scoping and engagement of stakeholders to capture the necessary requirements for data protection awareness-raising activities and materials. In this phase the Consortium conducts interviews with EU Data Protection Authorities and SMEs. Interviewing DPAs does not pose any significant difficulties, but in the case of SMEs the situation is little bit different.

Trilateral Research (a member of the STAR II Consortium) prepared a survey for SMEs, which is available at https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/7CF8D8T - this is now live and collecting responses. The pdf document attached to this e-mail contains the questions as well. (Please note the survey contains a hyperlink to the website of the STAR I Project. The site is currently being updated and  will contain information about STAR II as well.) This is a survey to cover a more representative picture of SME perspective, needs and concerns that we could do from a small number of interviews, and to potentially introduce us to some SMEs that would be willing to do interviews (if necessary). For that to work, we need to disseminate this as widely as possible.

Would you be willing to share/circulate the link through the communication channels you have at your disposal (e.g. mailing lists, organisational social media, SME associations contacts, etc. you may have)?

I would be grateful if you could let me know whether you are willing to share the link and where it has been distributed (I don't need individual contacts, just a sense of where).
